History on the Choptank
Our popular History on the Choptank historical river tours are back for 2024! Kennedy Thomason, a Senior studying American Studies and American History at Washington College, leads the tour which covers a mixture of Eastern Shore history. From the first Native Americans to World War II, this event includes topics for every history buff. We will have plenty of historical artifacts, photographs, newspapers, and more for a hands-on experience. If you aren’t in it for the history- we don’t blame you! The mid-morning hours are the perfect time to just relax and enjoy all the flora and fauna that the Choptank has to offer. Plus, we have snacks! Water, juice, and light refreshments will be provided for you. Our boat, the Ellen B., is equipped with a bathroom, safety resources such as life vests, and cushioned seating. Wheelchairs or other mobility devices can be accommodated with prior notice. Cruise times are 9 am -11 am except for our September dates, which are 10 am – 12 pm. We look forward to having you aboard the Ellen B. this season!
