Planned by MD Two Fifty, our signature programs and initiatives are bringing together Marylanders to explore and commemorate the full 250 years of American history, while honoring Maryland’s unique role in the journey from 1776 to today.
Revolutionary Baseball
Meet the MD Two Fifty team at minor league and independent baseball games. MD Two Fifty's promotional video will play at all games through July 5, 2026. At select games, stop by the MD Two Fifty table to answer trivia questions, win giveaways, and learn about historic sites in your community.

Maryland Mosaic
The Maryland Mosaic is a collection of firsts in Maryland and in our nation, demonstrating the state’s leadership and our contribution to the evolution of our nation.
Jayla Elise
The Heart of Maryland
Jayla Elise is a soulful 22-year-old singer-songwriter based in Cambridge, Maryland, whose music blends the emotive power of R&B and soul. Her original song was written in honor of the U.S. Semiquincentennial.
Maryland Society Sons of the American Revolution & Old Stone House and Washington Park
Maryland 400 Remembrance Ceremony
Old Stone House and Washington Park, the Maryland Society Sons of the American Revolution, and others plan an annual commemoration of the Battle of Brooklyn. 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the battle.
State House Trust
Black Revolutionary War Soldiers Monument
A monument commemorating Black Patriots who served in the American Revolutionary War will be placed on the southeast lawn of the Maryland State House. The sculpture will expand public understanding of the people who contributed to the fight for American independence.
MD Two Fifty Support for Semiquincentennial Planners
MD Two Fifty equips local planners with the tools and resources needed to create meaningful semiquincentennial programs in their communities. By supporting municipalities and organizations across the state, MD Two Fifty is helping Marylanders honor 250 years of American history through locally driven events that reflect the state’s diverse stories and lasting contributions to the nation’s founding and future.
Small Grants Program
MD Two Fifty offers a small grants program for nonprofits and local governments. Programs include Citizen Academy, MD Two Fifty Fellows, and Inclusive History grants.
Statewide Symposium
On Monday May 5, 2025, more than 100 MD Two Fifty stakeholders from around the state met in Crownsville for the MD Two Fifty statewide symposium on planning for the 250th in Maryland.
Virtual Convenings and Office Hours
MD Two Fifty hosts regular office hours to answer stakeholder questions on a monthly basis. Additionally, virtual convenings are held every six weeks to provide additional semiquincentennial planning support.
