Engage with History
America’s history is many things: triumphant, complex, resilient, and still unfolding. It tells the story of struggle and progress, of voices raised and rights earned. While each of us may see this history differently, we all share in its legacy. By understanding the past, we gain the tools to shape a better future built on truth, justice, and shared responsibility.
Commemorating Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride
On April 18-19, 1775, Paul Revere and other Sons of Liberty members were famously alerted by two lanterns and rode to warn the Patriots of the British Army’s advance ahead of the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
Two Lights for Tomorrow was a nationwide initiative that used the imagery of that shining light 250 years ago as a uniting call to action today for our fellow citizens, no matter where they are, to commemorate and remind ourselves that our history is about working together for a better tomorrow. To commence the Semiquincentennial festivities in 2025, MD Two Fifty participated in the campaign with Governor Wes Moore and Lt. Governor Aruna Miller lighting two lanterns in the Maryland State House dome.
