30th Anniversary Celebration: Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester
At one time, the economic life of much of the Dorchester County depended on the oyster dredging ability of skipjacks, a boat both graceful and functional. Today only a few remain in a sailing fleet that once numbered in the hundreds. The Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester was built by the Dorchester Skipjack Committee to keep this heritage alive and was launched on the Cambridge Creek, July Fourth, 1994.
Join us as we celebrate thirty years of sharing this important piece of local history, recognize those who made it possible, and re-christen the Nathan of Dorchester.
